HOW TO SELECT YOUR GLUE FOR EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
How to pick your eyelash extension glue?
Choosing the right glue when applying eyelash extensions is essential! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced technician, it is imperative to adapt the type of glue according to your know-how but also according to your client. The quality of your service will depend chiefly on these factors. If you are just beginning, StoreLashes provides you with glues that have a sufficiently long setting time, 2 to 3 seconds, thus allowing you to correct your hand gestures if need be. In this case, our Silver Luxe glue is perfect! On the other hand, if you are one of those for whom the application of eyelash extensions holds no more secrets, opt for an instant-setting glue, from 0.5 to 1 second, for the most effective results! In that case, perhaps our Extreme glue will be your best ally with its excellent value for money!
Temperature and humidity: two things to remember!
All glues are sensitive to air temperature as well as humidity, so it is important for all of our technicians to properly control these two elements. Moisture acts on the glue by speeding up the setting time, while dry air will act on your glue by releasing more vapours, so you will have to be vigilant about the risk of irritation to the eyes and the respiratory tract. In order to make the right choice, StoreLashes has selected different glues for you with a detailed description that will be available to read on each product sheet.
The storage of your glues
An essential element for the smooth running of your services, it is important to look after your glue. Glues require a minimum of care if you want to use them and keep them as long as possible. First, you will need to store them in a dry place, protected from direct light. The most commonly used method is to store them in a packet of rice, which will absorb any moisture from the surrounding area. Glue should not be stored in the refrigerator as this may alter its properties. Glue (especially pigmented ones) must be stirred daily in order for them to retain their effectiveness. By respecting these few rules, you will be able to store your glue for 6 months while the bottle is still sealed, or 4 months for a bottle which has been opened, being diligent after each use to clean the stopper and the neck.
Eyelash extensions and sensitive eyes, some precautions to take!
If your client wears contact lenses or if she informs you that she has sensitive eyes, we advise you, in order to avoid any irritation, to opt for a glue that will limit the vapour emissions. In this case, the Be Careful glue has all the qualities required for optimal comfort. If, however, you notice the slightest allergic reaction, get a nano-mist sprayer specially designed for this purpose; it will minimise the effects of the vapours and speed up the drying time of the glue. Also, do not hesitate to use a physiological serum (artificial tears) that you will find in all pharmacies.
Glues with or without pigment?
Black glues are precisely designed for black eyelash extensions, the result is a natural effect without any obvious demarcations. On the other hand, glues without pigments (like Baby White) are appropriate for coloured eyelash extensions that will blend with the colour of the skin.
Precautions before each use of glues:
In order for all of your work to take place under the best possible conditions, we advise you to perform a dermatological (patch) test on your client 48 hours beforehand, in order to avoid any risk of allergic reaction.
